best way to lose weight

As a NHS weight loss surgeon, each person who comes to discuss weight management with me totally puzzled by the boards there.
And who can blame them?
Every time we turn on the television or open the document, there is another "infallible" plan, a new health recommendation or an announcement of the latest miracle weight loss pill.
Despite this national obsession with diet, we have seen our weight gain, widen our waistlines and our health deteriorate.
Two-thirds of us are overweight and type 2 diabetes rates, which is strongly associated with obesity, are skyrocketing.
So what is wisdom and what is myth when it comes to weight loss?

Dieting is the Best Way to Lose Weight

lose weight

Research shows that when women, especially, want to lose weight, they turn to a diet.
Unfortunately, research also shows that it is very unlikely that this leads to long-term weight loss.
More than 85 percent of people find all the weight they lost, and, one year after the diet.
This can lead to the yo-yo diet of misery, which has led many women to lose sight of eating behavior.
On the other hand, it can affect your body also with recent evidence suggesting an increased risk of diabetes beyond what is related to actual body weight.

You need a good breakfast

A recent study confirmed that eating or skipping breakfast does not make any difference in weight loss.
Each person is different - they may be an early riser or night owl when it comes to sleeping - hence it is not surprising that breakfast needs and wants may be different, too.
Norton doctor said the old tip that breakfast is the "most important" meal of the day is wrong. Instead, it shows a recent study found eating or skipping breakfast does not make any difference in weight loss. He said that if you want to start the day on a good footing, ditch the processed carbohydrates and enjoy a high protein meal

Listen to your body when it comes to eating - if you have proper nutritious foods, your body will tell you when you need to refuel.
If you focus on a little protein - as confirmed by other recent research - and avoid sugar and processed carbohydrates, so having a snack or a party for breakfast is entirely up to you.

Eat Low-Fat Foods to Lose Weight

On the basis of dubious evidence, the myth that fat is bad has been particularly detrimental to our health and size.
However, it was the motto of health professionals for decades.
We were encouraged to stockpile instead of carbohydrates - but we tend to focus on processed breads, pasta and rice, which can actually cause us more harm than good.
Many fats are healthy in moderation and are essential for brain and body health - did you know your brain is 60 percent fat?
However, we are bombarded with low-fat yogurt content, the "thinness" of cooked and processed spreads that are swollen with sugar, salt or chemical contamination that provide little or no nutrition.
All the plans that have been proven to help with weight loss, there is the low fat diet to gain.
A recent study concluded that counseling 1980 warnings against high fat diets are based on misinformation

In fact, low carbohydrate, high fat diet seems to be more effective in the short term.
However long term weight loss is not better with this diet than any other that can not be part of your daily life.
Any changes you make to your diet should be lasting for you - otherwise it will not work.

Do not eat between meals

Now we are told that eating little and often prevents you from being so hungry and encourages to burn more energy.
However, I think our bodies were not built for constant snacks - especially in the type of food we eat today.
If you remain without food for a few hours at a time, it helps you to understand that you often eat hungry, just the usual.
This teaches us that "hunger" can be ignored for a while without falling on the ground.
Recent research supports this view.
